There are many airports in Germany, especially in the western part of the country. The largest airport in Germany is Frankfurt Airport as its shown in Germany airport map. The airport is not to be mistaken for the nearby private Hamburg Finkenwerder Airport.

With over 10 million passengers, the Stuttgart Airport is the country sixth busiest airport and serves as an important hub of Germanwings, offering flights to many European destinations as well as a long-haul service to Atlanta. The airport is located 13 km south of the city centre and it is connected with the airport by suburban trains S2 and S3 as you can see in Germany airport map. The oldest airport in Germany still in operation today is Hamburg Airport, which opened in 1911. In 2016 it was renamed from "Hamburg-Fuhlsbüttel" to "Hamburg Airport Helmut Schmidt". At the time of its foundation it was used for airships. It survived the Second World War almost undamaged and was thus expanded and used by the British occupation forces. An extensive modernization with a new terminal and new piers and began in the 90s. Another fundamental reconstruction took place shortly after the turn of the millennium.

Leipzig/Halle Airport, sometimes called Schkeuditz Airport (IATA: LEJ, ICAO: EDDP), is located in Schkeuditz, Saxony and serves both Leipzig, Saxony and Halle, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany. It has more than two million passengers per year as its shown in Germany airport map. The modern airport terminal structure extends over the adjacent motorway and railway. The terminal access is south of the railway while the runway 08L/26R parallels the driveway north of the railway, requiring aircraft to taxi on a bridge over the tracks and roads.
