The obsession with football in Germany means that the stadiums are pretty impressive across the board. The biggest grounds are capable of welcoming in over 70,000 supporters and even the smaller ones tend to have capacities of around 20,000+ as its shown in Germany stadium map. The safe-seating methods applied to grounds such as Signal Iduna Park, the home of Borussia Dortmund, mean that over 80,000 fans can enter the ground and create a phenomenal atmosphere at even the least important domestic match. The majority of the most recently built stadiums, such as Bayern Munich Allianz Arena, tend to boast a ‘Bowl Style’ design of continuous seating around the stadium.

Signal Iduna Park, before 2005 called Westfalenstadion, was built to serve as a playing venue for the 1974 World Cup. The stadium stood out because of its rectangular shape in a time when most large stadiums were still bowl-shaped, and its four separate stands served as inspiration for a new generation of stadiums. The Allianz Arena replaced Munich old Olympiastadion as its mentioned in Germany stadium map. First plans for a new stadium were made in 1997, and even though the city of Munich initially preferred reconstructing the Olympiastadion, they eventually went ahead with the clubs proposal for an entire new stadium. The Olympiastadion was built between 1934 and 1936 to serve as the centrepiece of the 1936 Olympics. It officially opened on the 1st of August 1936 with the Olympic opening ceremony. Olympiastadion München got built to serve as the flagship venue of the 1972 Olympic Games.
